About the Career Services Office
The primary focus of the Career Services Office is on career and post-graduate study research, while teaching students and alumni the skills to find the career they want.
Open to both degree-seeking and visiting students and alumni, the office provides career research resources, including advice on how to network, write a cover letter and resume, conduct informational interviews, research career fields and explore graduate study possibilities through ongoing consultations by appointment.
Information and guidance is provided on the benefits and requirements of internships, offering and actively seeking them on behalf of students, while the Office works in partnership with the Faculty through the For-Credit Internship program. An annual Career Week is also coordinated where qualified students and recent alumni can meet Internship sponsors and learn more about their organizations, and the internships and job vacancies they have to offer. Students can also use this service to find out about volunteer positions throughout the Rome community.
The Career Services Team consists of the For-Credit Internship Program Director, the Career Services Coordinator and our Alumni Association Coordinators. Working together with other members of the JCU faculty, staff and student government, this team plans and organizes career-oriented events for students and recent graduates to support the above goals and objectives.
