Students are encouraged to become actively involved in this aspect of university life.
Our Programs offered are:

  3. Student Worker Program
  4. Student Affairs Assistant Program
  5. Community Service Program

It undertakes to provide and stimulate student participation in overall policy and decision making within the University. Student Government endeavors to encourage interaction between the three branches of the academic community: administration, faculty and the student body. The Government also works closely with a Student Services staff member and a Faculty Advisor in planning social, cultural, intellectual and sports activities based on students’ interests and needs.

Community Service Program

We believe that an important component of the educational experience is understanding others whose needs and interests are different from our own. We value commitment to community. JCU has established agreements with various non-profit organizations, some of which are located within the University’s immediate vicinity, so that our students can volunteer their services to help underprivileged sectors of society.

Through our JCU Community Service Program, students have the opportunity to become more aware of our modern-day social needs and take an active role in addressing different problems.  Our partner organizations assist the homeless, operate a soup kitchen, support abused women and support an English-language library.
