Catherine de Montalembert de Cers is a dedicated educator who excels in the field of language instruction. As Lecturer in French at John Cabot University, she imparts her extensive knowledge and expertise to students from a wide range of backgrounds.
Prof. de Montalembert holds a Ph.D. in English Language and Civilization from the University Michel de Montaigne (Bordeaux 3), where she specialized in indigenous anthropology. Her qualifications also include an MA in French as a Foreign Language and Feminine Literature, and she has recently completed a Master of Arts in Psychology at the University of Chichester. In addition, she holds a Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and serves as an Official Trainer/Examiner for the DELF exam.
With over thirty years of teaching experience, Prof. de Montalembert has adeptly instructed students at all levels—from beginners to advanced learners—in Italy, the United States, and Northern Ireland. She firmly believes in fostering an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that stimulates collaboration and critical thinking. In her view, language learning is not merely about acquiring vocabulary and grammar; it entails a profound understanding of cultures and the development of meaningful connections.

Prof. de Montalembert has also actively collaborated with various institutions to teach English and French to professionals and public servants, broadening her perspective on the practical applications of language skills in diverse fields.

Beyond her teaching contributions, Prof. de Montalembert is passionate about research and has made significant academic contributions through her publications. Outside of the academic sphere, she is an accomplished swimmer, a third-level Pilates instructor, and a music enthusiast with over thirteen years of conservatory training in harpsichord.
