Maria Elena Nenni received a laurea degree with honors in Management Engineering from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and a Ph.D. from the University of Naples Federico II. She has also been a research fellow at CNR – the Italian National Centre for Research Activity. She served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Naples Federico II until December 2024. Her academic engagements include teaching and research roles at institutions such as the Rotterdam School of Management, UCD Smurfit School of Business, LUISS University, the University of Rome "Tor Vergata," the University of Holy Cross, and others.
Professor Nenni's primary research interests are in the areas of Operations and Supply Chain Management, with a specific focus on digitalization of manufacturing and service organizations, project management, product lifecycle management, sustainability management. On these topics, she has participated in many research projects of national and international interest. She has more than 50 publications in relevant journals, scientific conferences and books. Currently her research effort is spent on the development of models and methods for supporting enterprises in adapting to global competitive pressures by improving Integration and managing Digital Transformation of Supply Chains.
